This disease begins in the cells of muscles or tissues in the uterus, a hollow organ in the pelvis in which a foetus grows. Uterine sarcomas are of various types.
Surgery: The sarcoma can be removed by an open abdominal surgery as well as with partial or total hysterectomy
Minimally Invasive Surgeries: Laparoscopic or robotic surgery
Chemotherapy: May be given to kill a tumour that has spread beyond the uterus or if the sarcoma returns.
Hormone Therapy: This treatment uses drugs and substances that pre-empt cancer cells from consuming the hormones they need to grow.
Radiation Therapy: Depending on your case, you may be given high dosage of radiation with external-beam therapy or Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) where the dosage can be altered.
